Textria - online notebook without registration
Textria is an online notebook and text editor that works directly in your browser without registration or installation. Create notes, format text and add tables, links, task lists and images. Autosave, folders, templates and built-in text tools help you work on drafts, study notes, checklists and writing for publication.
Text editor with autosave
Textria lets you write notes in your browser and saves changes automatically after a short delay. The status bar shows the saving status and character, word and line counts, with a separate count for selected text. Saved entries can be opened on your next visit in the same browser.
- Multiple notes with folders, search and sorting by title, creation or update time
- Automatic note titles based on content, with the option to enter your own
- Find and replace individual matches or all occurrences
- Undo and redo, keyboard shortcuts
Text formatting, lists and tables
Format text with bold, italic, underline or strikethrough and mark inline code. Three heading levels and quotes help structure a note, while bulleted lists, numbered lists and task lists work well for plans and checklists. You can also add and edit links.
Insert tables of your chosen size, then add or remove rows and columns. Tables in imported Markdown files are also converted into editable tables.
Images in notes and a local image library
Add images from the formatting toolbar, paste them from the clipboard or drag and drop them into the editor. Each insertion can have its own description and width. Uploaded images are stored in a local library and can be reused in notes and user templates.
Open the image library from the Sections menu to search, rename and download images, or see which notes and templates use them. Unused images can be moved to trash, restored or permanently deleted once notes, templates and undo history no longer need them.
Ready-made and personal note templates
Start with a ready-made template, fill in its fields and insert the result into a note. Add frequently used templates to favorites. For recurring tasks, save a note as your own template or create one in the My templates library.
User templates support formatting, tables and images. You can edit, duplicate, search, sort and pin them. They stay in the current browser and are included in notebook backups.
Text statistics, cleanup and data extraction
The Tools menu offers three built-in tools. Statistics counts characters with and without spaces, words, lines and paragraphs, and estimates reading time. Text cleanup removes extra spaces, empty or duplicate lines, HTML tags, emoji and special characters according to your selected options.
Apply cleanup to the whole note or selected text; images are kept and the change can be undone. Data extraction finds unique email addresses, links and phone numbers and lets you copy results by category.
File import, PDF export and backups
Import individual TXT, Markdown and JSON files or a notebook ZIP archive. Download the current note as TXT, Markdown or PDF, or print it. PDF keeps formatting, tables and images; TXT contains plain text with descriptions in place of images. A Markdown export with local images downloads as a ZIP containing the text and image files.
In settings, export the whole notebook as a ZIP with notes in JSON, Markdown or TXT format. The archive includes folders, user templates and the entire image library, including trash. Choose JSON for a backup that preserves note formatting. Importing an archive adds its data to your existing entries.
Editor settings and additional input options
Choose a light, dark or system theme, Russian or English interface, editor font and zoom level. You can toggle word wrap and the browser's built-in spellcheck, hide the status bar, enter fullscreen mode and turn off animations.
The Insert menu lets you add symbols, emoji and the current date and time. Russian speech input is available in browsers that support speech recognition. You can also install Textria as a PWA app in a supported browser; installation is optional.
Where notes are stored
Notes, user templates and uploaded images are stored locally in your browser. The app does not send note content to its own server or automatically sync entries between devices or browsers. Privacy settings let you manage your consent to analytics.
Once the editor has loaded, you can write and edit notes offline. The first visit and some additional features may need an internet connection. Clearing browser data removes local entries, so keep a backup archive of important work.
What Textria is useful for
The Textria online notebook works well for quick notes and drafts, study materials with tables and illustrations, checklists, plans, reports and writing before publication. Templates speed up recurring entries, folders group materials by topic, and statistics and cleanup help when working with longer text.
