Install Textria as an app
You can add Textria to your computer or phone Home Screen as a Progressive Web App. In a compatible browser, it launches in its own window, stays within easy reach, and does not require an app store.
This is not a separate EXE or APK download. Your browser installs the verified web version with an app icon and quick access to the notebook.

How to install Textria
The exact flow depends on your browser and device. The card matching your current device type is highlighted automatically.
Desktop
Windows, macOS, or Linux
For browsers that support installing web apps.
- Open this page in your browser and wait for the install button to become available.
- Select “Install Textria” here or use the install icon in the address bar.
- Confirm the installation in the browser dialog.
If there is no button, open the browser menu and look for “Install app”.
Android
Android phone or tablet
The result depends on the browser: a standalone PWA or a website shortcut.
- Open Textria in a browser on Android.
- Use the install button on this page or open the browser menu.
- Select “Install app” or “Add to Home screen”, then confirm.
Chrome usually installs the PWA in a standalone window. Yandex Browser adds a shortcut that opens the site in a new tab.
iPhone and iPad
Install with Safari
On Apple mobile devices, add the web app manually through Safari.
- Open Textria in Safari.
- Tap Share and select “Add to Home Screen”.
- Enable “Open as Web App” if shown, then tap Add.
The Textria icon will appear on your Home Screen next to your other apps.
Clear distinction
Installation and offline access are not the same thing
A PWA brings both experiences together, but separate browser features power them. Installation makes launching easier, while the service worker prepares the main editor for offline use.
Installation
An icon and a standalone window
With full PWA support, the browser adds Textria to the device app list and launches it in its own window.
- no app store is required;
- there is no separate EXE or APK download;
- the app can be removed through the browser or operating system.
Offline access
Cached app shell and local notes
The main /app interface is cached while notes are stored locally in IndexedDB.
- open the notebook online successfully at least once;
- offline support covers the main editor rather than every public page;
- data stays on the current device and in the current browser profile.
Before going offline
Open the notebook once while connected
After the first successful /app load, the service worker stores the files needed by the application. Only then can the browser reopen the main editor without a network connection.
Local data
What happens to your notes
Textria stores notes in the current browser's IndexedDB database. Installing the PWA does not move them to the cloud or create an account.
- Notes do not sync between devices automatically.
- Clearing site data or the browser profile can remove local notes.
- Use TXT, Markdown, or ZIP export in the notebook for backups.

What is a Progressive Web App?
It is a web application that a compatible browser can install on a device. With full PWA support, it gets its own icon and standalone window while continuing to update like a website.
Do I need to download an EXE or APK?
No. Textria is installed by the browser. The PWA flow requires neither a separate installer nor an app store.
Why is there no install button?
The browser may not support the automatic prompt, Textria may already be installed, or the install conditions may not yet be met. Use the browser menu or the device instructions on this page.
Why did Yandex Browser install only a shortcut?
On Android, Yandex Browser adds a website icon that opens Textria in a new browser tab. For a standalone app window, use a browser with full PWA installation support, such as Chrome.
Will Textria work without internet?
The main /app editor can reopen offline after one successful online load. This does not mean that every public page is available without a network connection.
Are my notes moved when I install the app?
Installation does not move or synchronize data. Notes remain in the local storage of the current browser and device.
